That is so wonderful you say that.

I am speaking at Chris' memorial and God was very clear with me the other night that I should say, "His church was the mountains and his climb was his prayer"

Taylor - I am sorry for your loss; I never met Chris, but our paths may certainly have crossed in the CO mountains. I was in the Crestones area, climbing Crestone Needle the day after the fall occurred, and discussed the search and rescue efforts with one of the leaders. I can assure you I will remember the day as I continue to climb in CO, and will continue to climb as safely as I can. Take care.

Taylor, I was thinking of Chris during my hikes this weekend and while driving home past the Sangres this afternoon. Again, I am so sorry for your loss. RIP Chris.

I don't believe I've ever climbed two (separate) peaks in the same week but figured this would be a great time to start. I didn't know Chris or Rob but share the same passion as them and probably frequent 14ers.com just as often. RIP fellas.

WOW.

This is too much. I am writing this as tears run down my face. I am totally thrilled you did these hikes in memory of Rob and my husband. A beautiful tribute.

Flinster- little did you know that Chris and I had planned to do San Luis next month. Thanks for doing that for me.

Although I did not have the pleasure of meeting Chris, it is apparent that he shares the same love for these mountains as I do and that his life will continue to be celebrated by many. Let him and all others who have been taken too soon be remembered each time we set foot on trail.

Taylor-

May you, your family, and all who knew Chris be comforted and blessed.

Mike

This is so very touching. Very.

You have my heart very happy and I am so pleased that you have continued to do what you love with a new found love for life and respect for the mountains.

Thank you for your tributes to my husband.

“There are two kinds of climbers: those who climb because their heart sings when they’re in the mountains, and all the rest.” - Alex Lowe

"There have been joys too great to describe in words, and there have been griefs upon which I cannot dare to dwell; and with those in mind I say, 'Climb if you will, but remember that courage and strength are nought without prudence, and that a momentary negligence may destroy the happiness of a lifetime. Do nothing in haste, look well to each step, and from the beginning think what may be the end.'" - Edward Whymper
