Damn I hate sad endings to these things! RIP Joe... I hope you and your family are able to find peace with this!
To climb is to push yourself in a way you might not normally imagine is possible. If your stamina, skill, and luck are sound you will get to stand on top. ... I realized that with climbing, I'd found something that nourished my soul and could forge me into a better version myself - Jim Davidson

Damn. I was watching the drama unfold here and hoping for the best. Like you, I really want to know what the heck happened, as I have hiked Grays and Torreys multiple times. I am sure we will know soon enough.

RIP Joe. God bless you and your family.

If it was a hiking accident then the cause may instruct other people to avoid it.
If it was something else, no need to mention it.
My condolences.

i think that until a credible news source reports Joe N as deceased, I wouldn't give up hope just yet. the 'deceased' post has been removed and was posted by an 'other' friend. so who knows? I hope that there will be some clarification soon.

His brother has a post on the FB page that seems very credible. Very sad to hear. RIP.

That's terrible. RIP Joe. My best wishes to the family.
