There is just something about seeing big vert under your skis versus just 1-2,000'. But yeah, getting good conditions from top to bottom is tough to do especially in corn season (a bit easier mid winter in places like BC). Following the sun and timing different faces (Say East in the morning, to south, to west) is almost as rewarding as nailing one long descent.

Timing the conditions just right is tough. It just makes me appreciate the 6000' of near perfect chalk/corn we got on Shasta last month...

Sometimes you walk up mountains AND ski down, sometimes to walk up mountains TO ski down.
