Early Season Turns

Postby Carl » Sun Oct 09, 2011 3:43 pm

Who got some skiing in this weekend? Pics? Anyone make it out in the San Juans? Better yet, anyone ski any peaks?

Berthoud had a few decent spots:

Nothing too adventurous, but St Mary's Glacier had most of the icy suncups filled in!

^^^ Nice. I saw FireOnTheMountain's post that said St. Mary's was decent. Maybe we would have bumped into you guys but had a last minute change of plans and went with the snowy grass skiing of Berthoud.

Great fun to get out on the ski gear again, even if it was more of a rocky horror show than it was skiing. More snow please!

Went from not wanting to do anything but go mountain biking to not being able to stop thinking about my ski quiver this weekend. Crap.

Good shots all.

It sure is! Anybody want to carpool from Denver Friday?? I'll have to be back for work early afternoon, but I'm thinking about sneaking up there for a couple hours first thing in the morning.

Can't make it Friday, but I'd be down for Saturday or Sunday - any interest?

I almost always wear a bathing suit when I climb. If you see me say hey!

Both are also possible. Let's be in touch! This could have a very bad effect on my midterms next week. [-X

WROD pictures are welcome in this thread. Given the forecast, I don't think many folks will be getting any backcountry turns this weekend.
