Breck Peak 10

Postby Steve Gio » Thu Dec 16, 2010 2:23 pm

Anyone know what the deal is with Breckenridge not opening peak 10? They have been getting a lot of snow so I can only imagine they either have technical dificulties or they are saving it for the holiday. I don't know.

Thanks for the info.

Don't get me started on the ski schools.

Just kidding!

But the real Peak 10 hasn't been too bad.

I'm not up in arms. Just curious. I do like peak 10 a lot though so was missing it.

I am glad you mentioned that. What a great deal.

How has Peak 7 been? That is by far my favorite area to just glide for awhile.

Personally, I'm glad they've waited this long to open 10. Last year (with fairly terrible snows - at least Nov. - Feb.), Peak 10 was scraped to a sheet of ice and awful. I hadn't skied stuff like that since being a teenager at Alpine Valley, Wisconsin.

Falcon is opening at 8:30 tomorrow - think there will be long lines (Dew Tour too)? :D

Can someone remind me - is Breck open to "earn your turns"? What are some of your favorite resorts to "earn your turns"? If you need to know what that means, see you on the lifts 8)

Cheers,

We were at Breck Last Sunday. Got some real nice fresh powder turns on Peak 7 early and 6 chair slopes were great even in the afternoon. The top was a white out so we didn't head up.

Jason. I have nothing agains ski school in any way. I was a snowboard instructor back east. Only issue I have is when there is a huge crowd at 6 chair or wherever and ski school shows up with a crowd of people, I think that its pretty lame to just cut in. I know you paid extra to get to the front of the line. Just a little pet peeve. I was half joking when I made my original comment. Maybe quarter joking. Good luck with your 14er ridin'. Be safe.

Doesn't that mean "hike up to mid-mountain and then ride the lifts where they don't scan tickets"? :)
Some people are afraid of heights. Not me, I'm afraid of white blood cells.

Meaning hike up all the way and ski down :D
