Was there July 4 weekend. Flowers already spectacular then.
Snodgrass trail at top ridge of Mt. CB (two villages: downtown & Mt CB ski area) traverses flower meadows and aspens. You must share with many mountain bikes
O Be Joyful more uphill and no bikes. You eventually climb out of forest into tundra.
Quick peak scramble is Mt. Crested Butte itself. About 3 miles / 800 feet from top of ski lift ($17). Great views from peak and lift. Alternative is free, long service road with not much of a view until treeline.
Bring/rent mountain bikes. Many trails east to hard.

Re: Crested Butte climbs/fishing/eating
It's covered pretty well by now, but here's our hiking guide: http://14erskiers.com/blog/crested-butte-hiking-guide/
and our biking guide: http://14erskiers.com/blog/crested-butt ... ike-guide/
Camp 4 makes amazing coffee. Pretty much all the restaurants are good to great, it just depends on what your mood and budget is.

Great hiking resource you've put together there. Any recs on lake destinations for an overnight?
Re: Crested Butte climbs/fishing/eating
olde towne inn is probably cheapest, maybe the hostel, but not sure with the new owners. Nordic inn as well up on the mtn, but just did a big remodel so prices may have gone up. VRBO. The B+B's are nice, too.
italian- i'd go gourmet noodle, but the bacchanale also has new owners and their other restaurant, django's, is awesome so I'd expect good things.

Copper lake is cool but likely to be crowded and is an out and back. I'd say go out OBJ to blue lake (you can't camp right at it though). Or peeler lakes. they would make a cool loop via star pass for a 2 day/1 night.PaliKona wrote:Great hiking resource you've put together there. Any recs on lake destinations for an overnight?

Be prepared to wait since it will likely be very crowded this weekend. Still worth the wait. Get the Woodward pizza! I love the town, haven't had a bad meal or experience yet. Enjoy your trip!krs1 wrote: If you are looking for pizza in CB definitely hit the Secret Stash.

if there is a wait, it won't be bad. They just moved into a much bigger space next to the lobar this June.dwoodsATL wrote:Be prepared to wait since it will likely be very crowded this weekend.
