Tarryall Road (CO 77) Construction Closures and Delays

Postby Jim Davies » Tue Apr 09, 2013 9:12 am

It appears the Ute Creek, Twin Eagles, and Spruce Grove trailheads are in the construction area, if I'm reading the map correctly.

EXPECT DELAYS EXPECTED ON PARK COUNTY TARRYALL ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

The Federal Highway Administration- Central Federal Lands Highway Division (FHWA-CFLHD), in cooperation with Park County and Pike National Forest, has awarded a construction contract to Kirkland Construction, LLLP (Rye, CO) for the next phase of construction on Park County Road 77 (Tarryall Road).

Travelers will experience construction delays over the next seven to eight months. Construction operations have already begun and travelers should anticipate delays throughout the spring, summer and fall.

Alternate routes are advised. Possible alternate routes are Park County Roads: 15 (Elkhorn Road), 23, 31, 34, and Forest Service Road 211.

Travelers should anticipate the following delays scenarios:

• April 8 through noon May 24, 2013 - up to 60-minute delays seven days a week. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays roadway will be closed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• May 28 through noon Aug. 30, 2013 – up to 40-minute delays seven days a week.

• Sept. 3, 2013 through project completion (anticipated to be Oct. 30, 2013) – up to 60-minute delays seven days a week.

• Nighttime closures may be enforced, but are not anticipated at this time.

Note: Access to Tarryall Reservoir from Park County Road 77 southeast from Jefferson and from Park County Road 23 will not be affected by this project.

I'm glad to see them working on that road, it is a minefield of potholes

Definitely the worst paved road I've seen in Colorado. At least the turnoff to Goose Creek TH will still be accessible from the Lake George end.
