Cascade Creek / Lone Eagle Cirque conditions?
Hello - has anyone recently traveled the Cascade Creek trail from Monarch Lake to Mirror Lake below Lone Eagle Peak? I spoke to the rep at the Sulfur Ranger District and about all he could say was "deep drifting and postholing beyond the falls. No trail." He wasn't aware that anyone has made it to Mirror Lake this season. That intrigues me. I know there is a lot of snow in the western IPW but I find it hard to believe that no one has laid a track to Mirror/Crater Lake. Maybe someone here has been up there? Insight into the current trail condition including the south slope of 12er Blackfoot/Thunderbolt and would be much appreciated. Thanks!
