Yes, it's gated and locked above Idledale. The actual summit isn't private, but the road goes to the area of the communication towers (which must be private because there are "get lost" signs all around it).

Just park at entrance/exit 4 for red rocks, there is an unofficial trail will take you all the way to the top of Mt. Morrison works out to be around 2,000ft gain. Not bad for being so close to the front range. It takes me about 1 hour or less with a 30lb pack.

Yup, except MTB is off-limits on that route.
