preview/pop-up window for forum

Postby d_baker » Sun Aug 11, 2013 8:55 am

Is it me, or is there something different/wrong with how the pop-up windows display the post when hovering over a forum topic on the front page?
EDIT: Primarily when there's a quote included does it look a little off from what I remember it being.

There are a number of issues with the mouseover. I had a bunch of them written out but the post was eaten by the mysql error.

* Quotes don't display well.
* Images are cut out and not replaced by any filler, making the prose confusing.
* Links get cut out? Possibly making the mouseover text empty.
* "Post too long." is just annoying; I'd rather see ellipses at the end. And probably longer posts could be allowed.

I assume this is all hand coded by Bill and may not be worth the time to improve. How many people use the front page anyway (EDIT: I do)?

It's not you, Darin. To reduce page size and a few other things, I revamped the way the popups work and still have a few things to work out.

Thanks for noticing!

Hm now the popups all show empty. I guess it does reduce page size!
