If there was a thank you button, I suspect it would turn into just another p*ssing contest of some forum users striving to be the one with the highest number of "username has been thanked X times on Y posts" on their profiles...

That's not quite true Mario.

Well, what if the Thank You count was disabled on the profile.

I suppose this Community doesn't like the idea. Some like it, others don't. Worked very well on SP.

If a "thank you" button is installed, don't forget the "you're welcome" button as well. Please, go all out. Or, find an emoticon thingy that has a bowing dude and a curtsy girl. That, would be cool.

Brian, I can't THANK YOU enough though for pointing out how some of us like to have additional cred's on our profiles. Seriously, thanks man!
(btw, I think you're in the lead. That's 3 thanks in one topic. You rock dude!)

Darin, I was thinking of the Plenty of Fish dating website where users can send each other virtual roses and "gifts". But also suspect that would be abused and possibly badly misinterpreted by some here...

I would abuse it. For sure.
Oh wait, this is not a dating site. Man dates happen here all the time though! Oh, this soap opera took an awful turn...

(Edit: Sorry Brian, I forgot to thank you for clearing that up.)
