Fourteenerworld.com

Postby BuckytheGREAT » Tue Dec 15, 2009 12:06 pm

Hi. I just learned of this site.
I was wondering if it would be possible for those two websites to join together and have a stronger database, more members discussing issues and stuff like that?

You might as well ask Ford and Chevy to work together to make a truck. Even if they did it, some people's head would explode.

probably because they can - no reason not to (same goes for the ad banners). There is clearly an interest in the content that they provide. Knowing that there is a site with a similar purpose to this one just makes me appreciate this site and Bill's effort even more.

I've never even considered fourteenerworld, since 14ers and summitpost are both free. What possible reason is there to pay money for information that's already out there?

World charges for their info whereas this is free, and I think you will find that the info is the same. A lot of the people that post there are also here.

It means there are less threads like this one, and other beginner topics that get covered again and again. To some, this is important.

Personally, I'll take an open forum with a broad range of users, experiences, perspectives, etc. And I like the balance Bill has struck with managing the site.

Life is too short to pay full retail for outdoor gear!
