If anyone goes up Kelso ridge today can they post up. A friend and I were thinking of giving it a try tomorrow.

Got a jeep stuck up the road about a mile from the trailhead. spent an hour digging it out. Kelso was pretty sketch as of yesterday four to eight inches of dusty new snow on the route making it slick and foot and hand holds hard to find. we bailed to do kelso mtn instead but mostly due to time constraints. its still doable but plan on it taking longer than normal. snowshoes needed on the approach

Thanks! Do you think chains on a Rubicon will be ok?

Kushrocks and I were in my Jeep Wrangler with no chains when we got stuck. You would probably be OK with chains.

Made it about 100 yrds from the summer Th in my Xterra with cables. Did part of Kelso Ridge. Started to get late and it started to snow so we came back down. I dont belive there was anyone in the mountain besides us. Didnt really need snow shoes, microspikes did help.

How far up Kelso did you go? Did you make it to the "white wall"? I'm thinking of going out and doing it again on Friday. Thanks.

Yes, we got to just below the white wall at 12,900 anything after that with a rope I feel would of been to risky for us to attempt not to mention it was already noon and it had started to snow harder.

Ill try to post up some pics of the 1st section we climbed. After that we put the camera away to concentrate on the climb.
