Any not posted updates on Sherman or...
Hey everyone, so I am planning an outing for this Saturday April 13th, and was just hoping to get some input. Originally I was looking towards Mt. Sherman, and saw a report on here from 3/30 I believe, but was hoping there was maybe someone that didnt post but had a more recent update on conditions up there? I have a few back up plans, but really was wanting to get Sherman done. Any input would be very helpful!! Thanks so much!!

nkan02 and I hiked and skied the standard route last Thursday, April 4. Trying to get a TR up by tomorrow. There a couple of pics posted on another thread showing conditions: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=39367&start=48.
Road closure is right at Leavick. Road is a little thin but still skinable to hilltop mine, or it could be hiked without snonwshoes. Gully has pretty good coverage for skiing except 300 ft around 13,300. Gully up high skied really well. Snowshoes would be necessary up high if its warm. Standard route to saddle between Sheridan and Sherman would not be a good option right now because of cornice on saddle and slope that does exceed 30 degrees - use snow gully route.
Edit: I just read your other conditions request on James so I know a little more of what you are looking for. Take snow shoes and poles for sure. I don't think you'd need anything else. Study Bill's route description of the snow gully route - it is different than standard summer route. Follow the gully and it won't exceed 30 degrees. You might be able to use the edges of gully on shallow snow and rocks and have less snowshoeing. It was beautiful up there on thursday and fun day.
