Speaking of Olympics, maybe Tuba could provide play by play commentary like this Irish commentator watching Olympic sailing.

Looks like he's right on schedule, finished off the Chicago Basin 14ers in around 6h so should catch the train around 1130ish.

Don't know if anyone noticed, but he's shaved off 2.5 hours off Cavedog's time so far, by starting later in the day before catching the train out of Needleton. I think based on the openness of Cavedog's record breaking run and the ability to build off of Cavedog's route/plan success, he very well may break the record if he stays healthy and the crew can keep up with him.

Pretty exciting stuff!

I'm curious about location #21. After completing Eolus and N Eolus, why didn't he go down the trail at Twin Lakes?

Occasionally the SPOT will put out a tracking point that is off location due to interference (trees/rocks/etc) and so each and every "track" location can't be trusted. The "check-ins" are usually much more accurate.

Yeah, like Otina said there's often interference. The front of the unit has to be facing skyward in order for it to transmit properly so a lot of times the tracking feature will give anomalous location readings -- especially if the user is under a tree canopy or in narrow canyons.
