Go get it Homie! He's definitely done his homework and from chatting with him he knows what he's gotta do both physically, mentally, and logistically. Here is the rough outline of his local for the attempt based off what Homie sent me a few weeks ago...

Here's the schedule showing roughly when and where I expect to be:

Thu, 8/23 - 5:15a train from Silverton to Chicago Basin
Fri, 8/24 - San Juans
Sat, 8/25 - San Juans
Sun, 8/26 - Sangres
Mon, 8/27 - Sangres (Culebra @ 6:00 am), Pikes, Sawatch
Tue, 8/28 - Sawatch
Wed, 8/29 - Sawatch, Elks
Thu, 8/30 - Sawatch, Elks
Fri, 8/31 - Sawatch, Elks, Mosquito
Sat, 9/1 - Sawatch, Mosquito, Tenmile, Front
Sun, 9/2 - Mosquito, Tenmile, Front
Mon, 9/3 - Front

Back in the early '90's I was in Telluride with a group of running friends from KC and we were lucky enough to meet a local Telluride resident, Ricky Denesik. Ricky was a trail running machine and the two years we went to Telluride we were lucky enough to have Ricky run with us on different days.

In the mid-90's, Ricky, with help from another mountain running legend, Rick Trujillo from Ouray, broke the Fourteener speed record. I feel honored to have met and actually spent time on the trails with Ricky. Most of all, I wish Homie the best of luck in his record attempt and hope it breaks it. A group of us, some of the same guys from the Telluride trip, will be doing Long's on 9/1. Maybe Homie will be there as well and we can cheer him on.

Eric, are you guys planning any overlap in the Sawatch?
Here's hoping it's really nice there next weekend!
