5 days off - seeking suggestions

Post by Dave B »

We're going to have 5 days off at the end of May (26-30th) and want to plan something pretty big and I was hoping to get some good suggestions.

Right now we're toying with the idea of a couple of 14ers in the San Juans and then maybe an overnighter somewhere in a canyon in Utah. Also toying with the idea of spending a couple days at Lake Como or maybe trying to ski Snowmass (even though it might be a tad too steep at the top).

We're comfortable in steep couloirs (one tool climbs) and up to low 5th class climbs and would classify ourselves as intermediate back country skiers (typically stay on slopes below 35 degrees).

Obviously travel time has to be included in the 5 days.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance and cheers.
