I am looking for current information on climbing Capitol peak from the Snowmass creek trailhead approach? I am trying to figure out the most efficient way to climb Capitol and Snowmass on the the same trip in early August. Any kind of advice is welcome.

Re: Capitol from Snowmass creek
There are a good number of trip reports that cover Snowmass and Capital in a single climb. Here is one from last September:
Capitol - Snowmass Traverse (Satan's Ridge)

Here is another discussion on this topic: http://www.14ers.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 2&p=323635
Also I did a loop that exited from Capitol via that route: http://www.hikingintherockies.com/fourt ... apmain.htm

Re: Capitol from Snowmass creek
It is a worthwhile trip to Capitol via the W. Snowmass Creek route. Very fun and secluded. See the other discussion for my full take on it. Feel free to PM me with any questions you have about the route in particular. I would be glad to try and fill in the blanks as best as possible.

It's a beautiful approach but a bit of thick vegetation. Enjoy!
