Mount Massive--Northeast Slopes Route

Post by UltimateGuru »

Hello,

I am very interested in climbing this route, but I can't seem to find much information about it, beyond Roach's book. Has anyone climbed it recently (or anytime, for that matter)? My biggest concern is the snowfield on the route, as I do not own crampons or an ice axe. Can the snowfield usually be avoided easily (i.e. class 2 or 3 routes), or can you just climb it in boots? Also, does anyone have information on the class 3 traverse between N. Massive and Massive? I've done Longs and the Sawtooth on Evans...is it comparable to those?

Thanks a lot!
Jonathan
