Explorer to Nellie Creek Trailhead?
Will a 4x4 Explorer make the Nellie Creek trailhead under current conditions? I am concerned about the clearance.

Re: Explorer to Nellie Creek Trailhead?
I went up Nellie Creek on Monday with my stock Grand Grand Cherokee 4WD. I did not bottom out once but was very careful picking my way through the rocks in the first .4 mile. At the first creek crossing I switched to low 4 because between there and the second creek crossing are several steep and slippery sections because of the daily rains. After the second crossing things get better. It took me about 25-30 minutes to get to the trail head.

Not sure about "current" conditions, but here's a useful thread:

I look up to the mountains - does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! Psalm 121:1-2

You should be fine.
The Dalai Lama when asked what surprised him most about humanity:
“Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”

Thanks all. It was no problem, the Explorer made it fine. Just had to take it slow. Beautiful day on Uncompahgre!
