If headed to El Diente, Wilsons, or Gladstone pls post beta

Post by IHikeLikeAGirl »

If you're headed to the Wilsons and El Diente this weekend, could you please make some mental notes of the conditions along the routes and pictures would be awesome!

Interested in:
N Buttress on El Diente
Traverse from El Diente to Mt Wilson
Std route on Mt Wilson
Std route on Wilson Peak (especially the down climb)
Gullies to the ridge on Gladstone Peak

I realize it's a little early for someone who prefers a clear route on exposed ridges, but I'd like to get an idea of how far out it is from being clear.

Thanks!

Here is a shot of Gladstone right at the western base of it as we were heading up to Mt. Wilson. (Sorry, if forgot to turn of the auto flash.) Taken Sunday, June 27th.

There is substantial hard-packed snow on the north slopes of Mt. Wilson and it gets VERY steep. Crampons and ice axe are a MUST!

And as far as "a clear route on exposed ridges," there's no real snow to contend with up high. See photo....this is from the summit of Mt. Wilson, west to El Diente. Hope this helps.
