Does anyone have the GPS wavepoints for Capitol Peak via the Snowmass Trailhead from there climb? Especially, the couple of you that have done a winter ascent on Capitol. It would be great to get the wavepoints from any of the climbs from this trailhead.
Thanks!

Who do you plan on waving at? I think the last feasible spot for non-hikers to see you would be at the Capitol-Daly saddle.Winter8000m wrote:Does anyone have the GPS wavepoints for Capitol Peak via the Snowmass Trailhead from there climb? Re: Capitol Peak Help
:D I never thought of it that way. I just am trying to gather as much route information to Moon Lake as possible. I don't know if there will even be that much of a snowshoe trail at the beginning to be honest so I'm getting prepared to break trail for many, many hours. The GPS "Wavepoints" would be very helpful since that approach route is not here on 14'ers. Anything helps.del_sur wrote:Who do you plan on waving at? Re: Capitol Peak Help
I did what I called the snowcap loop, I think I still have the track stored on a computer I will have access to again tomorrow. I'll send you the file if I find it. How would you like it? GPX file, TOPO file, just a list of waypoints? We exited via the route you are interested in following so it should have what you need.
Here's a map of the route I did:

Awesome!! The descent route you did is exactly the route I need. If you could send it in the GPX File, that would be great!

Here is the file. Right click the link and choose "save target as.." then save the file on your computer. Make sure it keeps the .gpx extension (Microsoft likes to make it .xml instead). Then import it into whatever program you use.
