Longs Peak Conditions on June 1st?
Ive got a group climb planned for Long's Peak around June 1st and would like to know what general snow / ice conditions to expect above the keyhole. Ice axe or ice tool?

There more snow/ice in june than there is now. Bring all winter gear. Minus the parka

Expect the Trough (if you plan to do the traditional Keyhole Route) to be filled with snow. Crampons are definitely recommended. Usually, Longs Peak won't be clear of snow/ice and rated "non-technical" until July.
