She asked a question that she thought the answer would be, "Sure, it's safe." She then made a good decision based on unexpected input. I think this is a great place to ask the question. As for the armchair comment, barely noticed it, but everyone who's anyone knows that sarcasm is pink.

First off, shame on you guys for not offering to safely escort Jess up a 14er yourself.

Secondly, am I the only one who thinks that this reeks of Cheeseburglar trolling?

Glad to hear my legend in my own mind exists in the mind of at least one other, Chrissy.
But no, I had nothing to do with this. I'm sort of wondering why everyone thinks it would be unsafe? Maybe the guy knows what he is doing. There are safe routes up 14ers in winter. She didn't say what route they were going on. Maybe the guy has a nice warm down bag and some other protection.
Sounds like she might not have snowshoes or a split board, which would mean they would have postholed for a half hour, then gone to a bar or set up a tent. Doesn't sound dangerous to me at all. Unless the guy is the sociopath people assume he is and he slips her a roofie.

I've been meaning to say something similar but it has to do with TGC. I mean, if he was the guy it wouldn't matter what mountain they went up in the winter. Jess, his name wasn't The Great Camillo was it?

I checked back after I saw the troll comment to see what you would come up with. I must admit, I'm a little disapointed/surprised - you actually took a higher road than I would have.

You know, it really all depends on how hot she is ... and if she has microspikes
Microspikes are definitely a plus. Good call.
