Pop Up Camper to Blanca Trailhead

Postby ocajun » Wed Jun 17, 2009 3:18 pm

:D Any info on taking a Pop Up Camper to the trailhead to Blanca? We are coming from Virginia in early August and will be towing with a Toyota 4wd Pickup. Any areas to park? We can always disconnect the camper to drive higher on Lake Como rd. Plan to do one of the Collegiates later in the week. Thanks.

There are several locations to park a pop-up just after you the road reaches the trees. Unless you have one of those pop-ups designed for rough roads I wouldn't take it much farther than that.

Thanks, for the info CO Native. Would you happen to have an idea about the elevation in the pull off areas?

I believe the road turns too rough for most passenger cars at about 8000'.
