Uncompahgre? snow? help? Thanks!

Postby dcon » Fri Jun 12, 2009 4:26 pm

Hello everyone, I’m heading down to the SW part of the state for a week. Anyone know the conditions of Uncompahgre? I’m hoping to get that one while I’m down there but it sounds like there still might be a lot of snow on it. Any info would be great! Thanks =D>

Depending on what the weather is like between now and your trip, there may or may not be much snow.

I climbed it yesterday and we got snowed on most of the time we were on the mountain. There were several large snowfields to cross, but none that presented any difficulty without having snow gear. Above 13,000, there was between 3"-6" of new snow. If there is some warm weather between now and your climb, most of the new snow will probably be melted.
