Rain/Snow/Thunder in Forecast... Expected Conditions?

Postby kleinmaf » Wed May 27, 2009 9:36 pm

This weekend the forecast calls for rain and snow along with thunderstorms. Based on this last storm that just passed through, does anybody have any ideas about what conditions will be like for 14er skiing this weekend? Will we see powder, corn, or wet, rain saturated snow? Avy danger?

I am specifically looking at Castle/Conundrum, Elbert, or Snowmass.

I appreciate any thoughts from people who were up during the storm last weekend

We were on Conundum Sunday. Above about 13k there was some pretty good accumulation, maybe around 10" in spots. There was a "red" dust layer under that that was pretty solid. We climbed in a white out above 12k. Hope this helps.
