Lost crampons on Ellingwood

Postby dmccool » Sun Apr 01, 2012 10:34 pm

I have now become someone I have long feared - "that guy who lost his gear". I think I left my crampons near the top of a couloir on Ellingwood Point today. Here is a picture of the line we took and where I think they might be (marked with the X). The crampons are Black Diamond Contact Strap. If you're on Ellingwood Point any time soon and you feel the strong urge to look for them, I would be one happy DMCCOOL. Thanks, Dan.

Save a place for me up in the high country.
There's still space to breathe.

Peter Aitchison on the risks of rock climbing and mountaineering: "That's life, isn't it? We think the challenge and satisfaction you get from doing this is worth the risks."

"Respect the mountain. Train hard. Hope you can sneak up when it isn't looking."

"The mind is always worried about consequences, but the heart knows no fear. The heart just does what it wants."

not to shy away from your lost gear but were snowshoes needed at all? like in the trees aroud the lake.
Live today like yesterdays history and tomorrows a mystery.
