Found: rope on The Castle

Postby thejourneyishome » Sun Oct 26, 2008 6:55 pm

If you abandoned a rope on the rappel of the southeast gully route on The Castle in the Lost Creek Wilderness sometime between Oct 19th and Oct 24th and want it back, PM me in the next week or so. The rope looks pretty well used so it's going in the dumpster before long.

There was an article in CLIMBING magazine a couple of years ago about how to make a rope into a cool doormate..... =D>

Yeah. Don't throw it away. There must be 1,000,001 uses for a used climbing rope.
If someone hasn't already published the book, we should start working on it.

Here's something to do with your old ropes....

I've made a rope door mat before with a retired rope, but this one is really manky enough that I'm not going to do that.

But heck, if one of you want this thing let me know.

I've got a great used rope that has served me well for years, primarily to tie stuff to the top of my car.

Other uses include light towing, most (in)famously when I tried to use a lawn mower to pull my cousin across our pool on water skis (it didn't work).

Just because it's not safe to fall on doesn't mean it won't hold down a mattress.
