Found: Mittens on Lake Como Road

I've got your mittens. You left them on Lake Como today 10/12. If you ever want to see them again I require a hefty ransom. Just kidding of course. I can meet up in Fort Collins or mail them to you. PM me with a description and we'll work something out.

You'll get more if you show the owner you're serious by sending through the mail one mitten finger at a time.

Hopefully it won't come to that. I am working on getting a picture with a current newspaper to prove they haven't been harmed... yet.

I think those are mine. Didn't even notice they were gone until I saw your post. #-o
Just sent you a PM.

Sooo, what's it gonna cost me, hmmm?
Just please don't hurt my babies, they're really good mittens...just a little misguided at times, but overall they're very good mittens!

Were you one of the fearless duos making your way up Blanca as we were coming down? If so, how was it?

Fearless duo :D . We turned around when we bumped into the two fellas that were higher up, around 12,500 maybe, just over the waterfall. Jessica was done at that point and when they said they had turned back on the ridge we called it a day.

Haha, that was me and my buddy who made it to the ridge; unfortunatly we had to turn back, too. Mother Nature just had different plans I guess...

Good luck with those mittens though!

What were conditions on the ridge like? More verglas? Fairly tenuous?
Glad everyone made it down safely!

Another group of us were across the valley on Huerfano Peak. D_Baker, piper14, sgladbach and his dog (Cooper) made it to 13,300 before bagging it. "My fun meter is peaked" was the statement that preceded our descent. The compacted groppel from Saturday was hard to kick steps and the gusts were blowing us to the ground. (One gust knocked Cooper about 15 yards down mountain).

Shame and ridicule will forever be our fate as we were not able to summit 10/12/08. All other accomplishments are negated by this humiliation. Oh, well. that means we get to start building a new reputation by climbing, climbing, climbing!

For self serving reasons only, I am happy to read all this (not the part about Cooper though! :( ).
I feel far less whimpy! :D
