Lost poles on Culebra

Postby IHikeLikeAGirl » Tue Aug 26, 2008 12:10 pm

For those doing Culebra this weekend. If you could keep an eye out for some hiking poles. It started thundering when we were coming off the ridge and my fiance ditched them while we made an early exit from the ridge for treeline.

Appox elevation and coords are: 12175 ft 278° true 13 S 481151 4109299

It would be nearly impossible to find them though so, don't go to a lot of effort. They would be below the ridge, halfway between the bend and the large cairn, near a rock alcove. I think near the red X.

You can keep them if you find them, not concerned about the cost, more trying to abide by the "leave no trace" rules...and last I heard, marmots have little use for hiking poles. We'll also contact the ranch and see if they will let us look for them either this year or next.
