Advice on second 14er

Postby tlshields » Wed Mar 28, 2007 8:42 pm

Last Tuesday I climbed my first 14er, Quandry. It was windy, cloudy, and a blast.

What would be a good second mountain to tackle in the next month. I have snowshoes, but no ice axe, crampons. Thoughts????

Thanks in advance,

-Thomas

Pikes
Elbert
Bierstadt

With an axe I'd add Grays, Torreys, Yale and Sherman to the mix. (Democrat/Lincoln/Bross pending access resolution.)

You really should buy an axe if you plan to do much wintry climbing. Should be able to get one for $100 or less.

Also, look for trip reports prior to your hike. Someone hopefully will be kind enough to cut a trail for you and then post a report!
