Climbed My First 14er

Postby jaydubby » Mon Aug 06, 2012 8:45 pm

Came out from NC to visit my niece in Steamboat Springs and we climbed Mt. Elbert on July 21. Altitude was a little tougher than I expected but we had a great time. You can see just a few of my pictures at http://hike.ws

Congratulations! I remember Elbert as one of my favorite summits . Seems like the mountain was in your face for the longest time.
Crest the top and its one of the best 360 veiws.
Tallest Peak in the state for the first :)

Yah...it was awesome! We are hoping that I can make this an annual trip. Colorado is such a beautiful state. We drove up Independence Pass the day after our hike. I was having my niece stop for pictures at almost every pull-off. Simply amazing.
