Matterhorn?
Hey, I know this is a shot in the dark but is anyone going to be in Switzerland in the time range of July 21st-31st? I have some leave coming up and that's where I'm going. If I could get a climbing partner for the Matterhorn it would be awesome. If not, I have money saved up and I'm looking for a guide company that could help me up without all the prerequisite climbs all the companies I see advertise online. I'm good with dishing out extra money for a pure Matterhorn climb. If ya'll could get me some contact information to some guides in Switzerland that do trips like that it would be great. Also like I said earlier hit me up if your going to be in that area and interested in climbing. Thanks in advance for any help!

Oh man I'm going to be in France during that exact window. But I don't think I'm quite qualified to climb the Matterhorn quite yet. Would love to join you though.

I used a guide in Switzerland for a climb of the Monch. His name was Freddy and here is his website: http://www.swissrockguides.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Headwall5 wrote:Hey, I know this is a shot in the dark but is anyone going to be in Switzerland in the time range of July 21st-31st? He was a fantastic guide. He did require us to submit a climbing resume to show what experience we had. He is very familiar with Colorado, 14ers, and American techniques, as he spends his winters in Utah teaching ski racing.
EDIT: Just saw on his website that he is not guiding Matterhorn climbs in 2014 because the Hornli Hut is being renovated.

Alpin Center Zermatt will provide a guide for you without requiring a "warm-up climb" if they believe your experience is adequate.

Re: Matterhorn?
I forgot about the Hornli Hut being out of commission for renovation. In case it's going to be closed all season, you might consider climbing the Lion route from the Italian side, unless you have your heart set on the Hornligrat.
Good luck whatever you decide!
