Everest Anniversary - First Ascent 60 Years Ago Today

Postby jeremy27 » Wed May 29, 2013 8:22 am

To celebrate the anniversary of the Hillary/Norgay first ascent of Everest I thought I would post a link to the relevant Time magazine article, available on Google Books. Skip to page 120 or scroll through all the ads for a couple laughs. Enjoy.

I feel like I want a Gin & Tonic, a cigarette and something made with mayonnaise.

So, if you could go back to 1953 - What would you tell them?

I'm thinking
- When the Russians walk out of the UN Security counsel - it is a trick - Korea
- Don't follow the French in anything they do - Vietnam
- Those cute children of yours will grow up to hate you in the '60s
