Climbing Denali

Postby chacal » Mon Oct 30, 2006 10:55 pm

Hello! I'm looking for a partner to climb Denali next May. I'm a Spaniard, resident of Colorado since 2004 and have experience in the Rockies, Alps and Andes. I'm 28 and for work reasons, my wife can't climb with me that month. I will be happy to joining up with someone with serious interest in this mountain. I'm looking at doing a clean ascent, no fixed lines... Please, email me at elias@sierraguadarrama.es if you want to talk about it. Thanks!

I'm planning on climbing Denali as well w/ 3 friends, but we're planning on June and the standard West Butt.

Sounds awesome.. :o

Without proper training and experience, I think I will attempt a Rainier climb before dealing with one of the world's grand mountains..
On my first take-off, I hit second gear and went through the speed limit on a two-lane blacktop highway full of ranch traffic. By the time I went up to third, I was going 75 and the tach was barely above 4000 rpm....
And that's when the Ducati got its second wind. From 4000 to 6000 in third will take you from 75 mph to 95 in two seconds - and after that, Bubba, you still have fourth, fifth, and sixth. Ho, ho.
