Good luck to all the runners -- unfortunately I won't be assisting this year.

The monsoons are in FULL effect in the San Juan Mountains right now and heavy rain is possible the next couple days which could make the race interesting.

Are the monsoons the reason they're running the course backwards?

Good luck everyone!

I noticed John Prater aka "Homie" is running, he's a beast. I hope he thinks about attempting the 14ers speed record again in the future.

The course is flip flopped every year. Counter clockwise this year. I will give a shout out to Homie when he comes thru on the Shelf Road. SJ Ron

The rain has held off so far but there are ominous clouds in the area which could make Handies interesting in a couple hours. SJ Ron

Looks like Homie is 23 and moving up at the last checkpoint.
I'm just pretending to be a poseur.

I wished to find a warrant for being. I need no warrant for being, and no word of sanction upon my being. I am the warrant and the sanction. this would be more interesting with live tracking on each runner. :-D or at least a few live feeds from aid stations. I didn't know Homie made the draw this year, good for him.

Homie got a shout-out and high five from my wife & I between Burrows Park and the Shelf Road. He was jogging and had a group of a 4 or 5 runners just ahead of him and was moving in on them fast. No rain! SJ Ron :)

Diana Finkel is a beast. Every year she is near the front, chasing the top men, often in contention for the overall late in the race. Huge respect for her.
