My Summer CFI Fundraiser

Postby BillMiddlebrook » Mon May 27, 2013 7:37 pm

This summer the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative (CFI) has major trail projects on San Luis Peak, Mt. Eolus, Mt. of the Holy Cross and North Maroon Peak, plus Adopt-a-Peak work to be done on another 19 14ers, so CFI Executive Director Lloyd Athearn and company are working hard to raise money for the work. This year, instead of simply plugging the CFI and their need for funding, I created my own fundraiser on ColoradoGives.org with an incentive (of my own money) if we meet milestones on the way to my goal of raising $25,000 this summer. If you don't want to donate to the CFI through my fundraiser, you can also donate during their annual appeal mailing which comes out later this year. Either way, I encourage you to support this fine organization which has a clear and focused mission. Your donation doesn't have to be huge; $5, $10, $25... it all adds up and every donation is appreciated.

THANK YOU and have a great summer!

-Bill M.

I pimped this on the 'book group as well... With all of the members on here, $10 per person would blow that $25,000 goal out of the water.

I signed up for $70.

$250 donated. CFI's work is invaluable and very donation worthy.

Really? What more are they going to do to N. Maroon? There's not much that hasn't been done between the turn off the main trail and the high meadows before Rock Glacier. Holy Cross' North Ridge got redone last summer, but treeline to East Cross Creek was *yuck*.
Not sure if I'll do more 14ers. The trip reports are too tiring.

North Maroon: Now that the trail has been re-routed, the old (closed off) trail segments require quite a bit of restoration.

Holy Cross: Trail maintenance continues on the main trail, as well as the restoration of user-created campsites near the creek and lakes.
