I haven't been able to find it in the stores for the past couple of years, so I order it in bulk on-line: Natural Ice (Mentholatum/Medicated) Cherry SPF 15 (helps as a protectant and chapped lips).
As if none of us have ever come back with a cool, quasi-epic story instead of being victim to tragic rockfall, a fatal stumble, a heart attack, an embolism, a lightning strike, a bear attack, collapsing cornice, some psycho with an axe, a falling tree, carbon monoxide, even falling asleep at the wheel getting to a mountain. If you can't accept the fact that sometimes "s**t happens", then you live with the illusion that your epic genius and profound wilderness intelligence has put you in total and complete control of yourself, your partners, and the mountain. How mystified you'll be when "s**t happens" to you! - FM

My lips burn very easily in high altitude sunshine when reflected off spring snow. :( Just went up Evans using the Blistex 30 SPF product and it protected my lips completely.

You could add another question: Which one do the bears prefer?

I keep my Salmon Eggs flavored lip balm for urban activities like going out to sushi, way less bear headaches.

Burt's Bees. Nuff said.
Seems like the times that I need a mountain the most are the times that I can not get to them.
