Island in the Sky, Canyonlands Access

Postby Winter8000m » Thu Apr 25, 2013 11:56 am

I'm curious how the White Rim road is looking this year? Could a Subaru make it to Monument Basin? Or perhaps a shorter distance to Washerwoman/Monster Tower, or Moses Tower? Don't have a Jeep or truck. I drove to Monument Basin a couple years ago for some climbing but my memory is poor as far as the road.

I just got done spinning it out on Tues 4/23/2013 and the NPS is out there doing a lot of work on the road right now. They have it pretty buffed out. I think your Subaru could clear the whole thing.

I did standing rock two weeks ago and we saw several foresters down by the airport camsites. You should be fine, the road was in pretty good shape.
