Shaylee's 200th mountain

Postby Scott P » Sat Dec 01, 2012 4:58 pm

If anyone is interested, 8 year old Shaylee climbed her 200th mountain today. We climbed the Wingle Ridge with a side trip to Shrine Mountain.

Here is a photo of Shaylee and Kessler (it was his 348th mountain) near the summit of Shrine Mountain:

We hiked up in the dark last night to 11,209' and spent the night in Chuck's Cabin before climbing the peak today. Kim stayed behind in the cabin and read while the kids and I climbed the mountain. There wasn't near as much snow as there is normally this time of year and it didn't feel like December. It was 28F on top with only a light breeze and by December standards at nearly 12,000 feet, it was a really warm day.

We had some nice views of Mount of the Holy Cross too:

It was a beautiful day!
I'm slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.
