Does anyone have a pace chart of mile by mile splits ? I know it must vary a lot based on how well one's acclimated.

What does a 1:45 or 2:00 mile-high half marathon translate to ?

Here are my splits from last year. My starting pace would have been doable until the end but the winds were brutal last year. 1:45-2:00 half would be about the same as my time.. I ran a 1:39 half the week after Evans last year.

The winds last year were more than brutal! They were craziness! One of the best ways to get a feel for what you can expect of yourself is to head up the road before race day. Its not too bad to run up to summit lake and back, though the downhill definitly starts to get old after a while. Each person I think ends up running this totally different based on acclimation and weather.

Have a buddy who just moved to CS sign up for it. It's his birthday so just sing happy birthday at the start line haha.

Did the Kendall Mtn Run last year and man did that kick my butt (in a good, butt-kickin kinda way..).

Good luck to everyone running Mt. Evans this Saturday. Weather is looking a lot better than last year!

I will be wearing a white hat, and a green Northface jacket. Come say hi during registration.

Should be a great day. Slow and steady, that's my mantra. I'll be interested to see how Evans compares to Pikes Peak Ascent. See you guys up there!

My wife and I will be running on Saturday. It's her first race longer than 10K!

Curious to see what you think but IMO, Evans has absolutly nothing on Pikes. Pikes is in a class of its own. Not to say Evans isn't difficult but at least the ground is solid!

Agreed. I've done both the Pikes Peak Ascent and the Mt. Evans Ascent and found the Mt. Evans Ascent to be the easier of the two, by far. Have a great race !

Any last minute advice for a...um...big-boned guy attempting this for the first time? I certainly can't run the whole thing, so I'll be running/walking/running to the top (presuming I hit the cut offs in time).
