I just finish Josh Aho's book "Climbing Colorado's 14ers with Sawyer". Josh and his golden retriever climbed all of the 14ers except Capitol. Only one (other) dog has climbed all of the 14ers. This book is terrific. It is a tabletop book with tons of awesome pics. For those on this site who climb with dogs, you will be amazed and probably crying at the end. I just finished "The Ghosts of K2" by Mick Conefrey. Lots of good info on the early climbing history of K2.

No Picnic on Mount Kenya by Felice Benuzzi. It's literally a cross between the Great Escape and like, Conquistadors of the Useless. Great book. The world's a lot smaller of a place these days.

The Journey of Crazy Horse by Joseph Marshall.

It's a good read about the great warrior and the Lakota Sioux. Very compelling account of a tragic part of our history.

Do I get credit for reading if I am listening to an audio book ? If yes, I am "reading" The Hungry Ocean by Linda Greenlaw. Before that I "read" Hiking Through One man’s journey to peace and freedom on the Appalachian Trail by Paul Stutzman, and a few weeks back I finally finished "reading" A Dance with Dragons by George RR Martin.

I'm most of the way through "The Road to Little Dribbling", Bill Bryson's latest travelogue, this time about traversing England by car, foot, bus, train, etc. It's funny and entertaining, as he mixes in local history and pet peeves along the way north. For example, I hadn't heard that the English national parks started with a protest by 500 people in 1932 who climbed a hill against the wishes of the local Duke, who wanted to save it for his personal grouse hunting. It's called the Mass Trespass of Kinder Scout. Fun stuff...

Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger. Minnesota small town looks like Mayberry until a boy discovers the hard way that it ain't.

Beauty is a Wound by Eka Kurniawan. Indonesian civil war, as told through the eyes of the country's best prostitute.

The Sellout by Paul Beatty. Satire about a black man in L.A. who acquires a slave and defends himself to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Americanah by Chimamanda Jgozi Adichie. Nigerian immigrant tries to makes sense of America. "I never felt black until I lived in the U.S."

The Faithful Spy by Alex Berenson. Great thriller about a Montana CIA agent who converts to Islam while spying in Pakistan and tries to stop an Al Qaeda dirty bomb in Times Square.

Crow Killer, the saga of liver-eating Johnson by Raymond W. Thorp and Robert Bunker. It is the story that the movie Jeremiah Johnson is based on. I love the movie and liked the book as well. To have lived in the mountains in this age would have been something.

"Life and Death in the Andes" Kim MacQuarrie. Excellent so far. Historical stories starting in Columbia and traveling south along and through the Andes countries. Author has great grasp on So American history, culture - great storyteller (really good writer) and explainer of events and people.

Kudos to Jim Davies for "The Road To Little Dribbling"! And I haven't read it! Bill Bryson is possibly my favorite author. I'm currently reading his "One Summer. America 1927". Does the title sound interesting? No. But it's Bryson so I'm reading it, and as always, it's interesting, informing, often fascinating, and filled with his humorous facts and observations. I'm always in a better mood while reading one of his books
Another kudos to cpb145 for mentioning Archer! Who knew you could fit Archer into a thread about reading?
