 Lincoln SE Chutes

We had a late start at the Montgomery TH about 7:30, however the day remained overcast for most of our ascent. The gate is open making this a continous ski to the car. Climbing the First pitch by the icefalls was a little soft. We climbed a small face out of the amphitheatre to gain the ridge running east to west that passes the old minning buildings slightly above our intended descent routes.

We skied east off the top for some smooth turns and then traversed back to the ridge past minning cabin to our intended descent.

Looking down the middle chute, perfect corn into the basin.

Thanks for the boot pack up the ridge and to the summit. I followed your footsteps on my solo ascent this morning and was jealous of your tracks through the chute. Being alone, I decided to descend through the low angle gut of the bowl to skiers right of your chutes. The snow was smooth slush on top of a pretty solid base. Not a cloud in the sky. Great climb. Way better than the standard amphitheater route, or quartzville or kite lake for that matter.

Nice TR. Good information. Was thinking about thirds. Is there a cornice at the top of the chute where Calc is skiing down? Thanks for the beta. -Th
