Nice job on some big lines this spring. I am enjoying the tr's.

Thanks all!

Schralp, there were definitely a few moments like that, in particular that traverse in the condition it was in.

Carl and Matt, of course you're both right, this is a line that I can't see many aspiring to without the 14ers goal in mind. But that's also my point, there's a lot more out there to aspire to .

MtnHigh, yeah I wouldn't mess with any of these gullies in summer. These gullies lead straight to the summit, and there's a real rockfall risk given how loose these peaks are. On top of that I can't imagine trudging up loose, wet gullies would be a ton of fun. Try the North Buttress or else either of the standard routes.

enjoying the southwest, eh?     2011-05-13 11:16:47
Great few days back there on some serious lines. Looks like a classic intense descent for sure, if you look closely in a lot of the pics you can see the ”nervous, sort of freaked, wow, this is amazing, hope I don't die” expression on a few the faces.

A solid effort on this on and wilson peak too for all involved.

You're Impressive     2011-05-13 11:26:05
Great work claiming another 14er victory, I always enjoy your reports!

abrupt end     2011-05-13 11:27:41
I like the ”This chute narrows and steepens, and then comes to an abrupt end at the base of the Fox Traverse.” comment/pic.

Wish I was capable of that kind of adventure. Pretty dramatic stuff.

Almost......     2011-05-13 12:17:09
makes me wish I had gone with you guys this day......almost

very nice     2011-05-13 14:00:56
looks like a helluva day! nice photos. Looking at some of those photos the ski descent make my stomach turn, and wish I was a good enough skier to contemplate some of those lines!

Nice     2011-05-13 15:29:44
Glad you guys were able to get down there for these. Great pictures.

This is why we ski 14ers...     2011-05-13 16:06:18
A few of us had this discussion recently and I gave a half cracked response but I think El Diente exemplifies why I enjoy the ski the 14ers project... it motivates me to drive 6 hours after work and push my physical limits to ski a route I may not have otherwise. The result was an incredible day in the mountains with strong partners and good snow. Nice TR Ben.

Looks sweet     2011-05-13 16:10:02
Nice job guys! Looks like fun climbing too!

Question: is the Fox near the top of the N buttress route? If so, did you start your climb on climber's right of the buttress route?

Congratulations on this one, and great TR and photos!

Nice route, nice report!     2011-05-13 18:24:30
Carl, I agree, this is the kind of experience we're after. Beautiful and challenging line. Hats off to Jarrett once again.

D, I can answer your questions: yes and yes.

that line looks a lot more fun on snow than on crappy summer rock

Four guys in a phone booth ...     2011-05-16 15:34:52
Of course, none of you have ever experienced that.

another amazing report     2011-06-05 10:44:43
Thanks for the great report...some I read for beta, some I read just for entertainment because I know I won't be up for that trip - this is one of the latter, and I admire the skill and courage of all involved.
