Mt. Elbert east ridge ascent, box creek couloir ski descent via south elbert TH.
I decided on the east ridge after last months trail breaking/ wayfinding nightmare on the south ridge. The weather was great all daysnow stayed cold above treeline, and I got to ski almost halfway down the 4WD road, about a mile from my car at the 2wd trail Image Image
early snow was good and route finding was no problem

I ditched my gear around 14k' (not here) at a spot I could easily get back to above the box creek.

the only post holes where I had to hike were only shin deep. It stayed cold all day thankfully.

I was able to stay to the left side and skirt all the way around back to the east ridge on the right with no elevation gain

It was steep, but this looks worse than it was
