 Tabeguache from Jennings Creek

After several failed attempts on Tab, I was finally able to finish it off with another 14ers.com member.

You can check out the Trip Report by clicking HERE.

I hope it is useful for anyone wanting to do a non-standard approach up Tab.

Great Job Matt     2010-11-10 09:14:50
Great TR and excellent photos! Do you have a GPS track for that hike? I will be doing it next year.

GPS track     2010-11-10 09:50:28
Actually my hiking partner has a GPX file that he sent me of most of the hike (he stopped short of the summit, but you can still see where we went). I can email it if you want Ben. I think I still have your email address too!

Nice!     2010-11-10 12:50:24
I like your choice of route, way to pick the road less traveled by.

You just missed Carbonate.     2010-11-10 13:39:30
I had been chased off of Shavano aacouple times trying for that peak. Finally got it from Jennings sort of, but went westerly and up over Carbonate on the way there. That made it interesting. Looks like you had a good time your way too.

Yeah - I did Carbonate in September - via Boulder Mountain - Mount Mamma - Grizzly - Lo Carb - Cyclone - Carbonate. Awesome area!!!

Cmon Jason, where's your sense of adventure!? You could hike up to Tab with your board and then take photos while boarding down to the bottom

If you really do this I have no liability if you're injured!

Fall mountaineering     2010-11-11 08:10:05
Matt - It looks like you're now climbing 14ers on the edge of fall. Time to break out the snowshoes/crampons for the next climb... Great report!

I'm planning on doing some snowshoeing this year - probably some fun 13ers are in the mix!
