 Sherman- Southwest Ridge remix

I started off from Monument at 0235 hoping to be on the trailhead by 0500. I tried looking for a bathroom in Fairplay but NOTHING was open, I even tried a hotel and they had locked their bathrooms. So I drove up CO-18 and could not find the pull-off described in the directions, so I went back down, at this time it was about 0530, got gas, a gatorade, and took a bathroom stop. I drove back up just as the sun was peaking over the horizon and found the pull-off that was right where I had turned around before but didn't know it because of the darkness.

I started at 0645 on the trailhead. I soon found the gate landmark that I had not driven far enough to see the first time up the mountain. I followed the trail until I saw a smaller trail that went up the side of what I thought was the peak. It was less traveled and it was steeper, so I thought I might be saving myself some time? Well that ended up to be wrong too. I went up a trail with VERY loose rocks and had to bearcrawl up the side of the mountain. I then got on the ridge and came to a couple false summits before I found the real summit.

It started snowing very very slightly on my way up the side of the mountain, but then it stopped almost as soon as it had started. I then ran back down as soon as the ground started to get more solid and ended up back at the car at 0915. So to sum it up, I started at 0645, got to the summit at 0800, spend about 30 minutes at the top and got back tot the car at 0915. 2.5 hours round
