Nice day     2010-09-24 10:31:24
I was a bit to the east, but that was a great day to be out. I'm planning on doing some of these peaks in the next couple weeks, but starting from the south. (Shavano townsite) Nice to see that picture of the ridge between Lo Carb and Grizzly, so I know what I'll need to downclimb.

If you are going to post a TR on 14ers.com.....     2010-09-24 16:18:22
then post it. Not a link to your blog and website. What would you think of Bill Middlebrook posting trip reports on the website that you are trying to grow with links his blog and 14ers.com? It simply boils down to professional ethics. You are obviously trying to increase traffic to your site, and this is a weak way to do so. I think that is why you are one of the only people getting thumbs down on your trip reports. If you are going to use this site. Use it for the common good, not your personal good. Just my 2 cents. You can tell me to buzz off if you want to.

LOL     2010-09-25 14:15:49
I think it's funny (read - sad) that you took the time to look and then post that you noticed.

Oh hell, I'll admit it - I felt sorry for myself.

I clicked on dislike now - just so that you feel better about the whole thing. Kind of funny disliking your own work, eh?

Glad the photo was useful! It's not too bad of a section but beware of the rock on that ridge - its super fragmented and there were huge sections of what appeared to be solid rock that was falling down on me.

I think it's funny you gave yourself a thumbs up.

Good feedback     2010-09-25 10:02:26
After a good discussion with PKelley I think what I will do going forward is put more substance into these reports but still provide a link to my main webpage if people want more. Fair enough? Appreciate the civil commentary.

Can you tell?     2010-09-25 20:51:22
Can you tell who gives likes and who gives dislikes? I didn't think that there was a way to individually identify them.

Yes, I'm nosy.

Yep - you can on the main trip report page - just click on the number. I had no idea myself.

Don't be silly     2010-09-26 08:24:36
I don't read the majority of TR's due to time constraints. I read them as time allows, when I have interest in the particular peak, or sometimes if I know the person. I did see all the thumbs-downs here so I was curious who would rate these as such. I also checked the thumbs-ups out of curiosity. BTW, you aren't the only one giving yourself thumbs-ups. Don't be silly and berate your own TR. Maybe if you posted a complete TR here with a link at the end to another website for people who are interested in purchasing pictures, that would be more appropriate. I don't know. Nice pics BTW.
