VIDEO DOCUMENTARY '' A DAY IN THE CRESTONES''

On the 9th day of September, 2009, I set out to film a new kind of 14er video. After a year of working to afford my first computer and to figure out the editing program, I am now happy to post this link to part 1 of 4 10 min. short videos that document an 18 hour hike that starts at midnight in Lakewood, Colorado with a long drive to Westcliff, Colorado an part way up Crestone Peak only to be forced off due to snow! Undaunted, this old bum sets off for Humboldt! All the time filming this most perfect day. Now, this video is like nothing you have ever seen on this site. Please have an open mind, the altitude can really mess with a guys brain. ENJOY.

Don't know how the story ends...     2010-09-12 18:00:27
Let me paint a picture for you: You're sitting in a restaurant -- any restaurant, it doesn't have to be a fancy one -- prepared to have a nice evening out with your loved one(s). Everything's going fine, until the people at the nearby table, speaking at a volume that clearly makes it a certainty that anyone within several tables can hear, start casually peppering their conversation with f-bombs and other assorted profanities. Your video series was just like that.

Don't get me wrong, I drop plenty of salty language myself, but not without regard for who might be within earshot. You put these vids together with some witty movie clips, swirling music (”Tubular Bells”? Whoa.) and, of course, drop-dead gorgeous scenery. But then you open your mouth and negate all the beauty. I found it grating enough to stop watching midway through part 3.

I wonder how many f-bombs William Holden unleashed in The Wild Bunch or Bridge on the River Kwai.
